Change uses external influences to modify actions, but transformation modifies beliefs so actions become natural and thereby achieve the desired result.

In a world of unprecedented disruption and market turbulence, transformation today revolves around the need to generate new value—to unlock new opportunities, to drive new growth, to deliver new efficiencies. All transformations require to rethink how  enterprise creates value today and in the future.

Companies that undertake transformational change have to succeed at the basics, such as creating clear, stretching targets and defining a clear structure. In addition, this survey suggests that the more companies also focus on their employees' mind-sets and behavior, the more successful they will 

There are four main types of transformations: translation, rotation, reflection and dilation. 

Keeping the cost, productivity and efficiency in mind organisations  try to bring changes within the organisation in the existing workforce.
Managing changes within by transforming the skills, potential and credibility benefits the organisation in the long run in retention, employees happiness employees and commitment.
